Luke 10:26 -- Dissonance

  Luke 10-25-26 reads: "And Behold, a lawyer stood up and put him to the test, saying, "Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?"   26 And He said to him, "What is written in the law?  How does it read to you?" Jesus goes on to answer the question (and the lawyer ask another, and Jesus answer with a parable).  I wanted to focus on 10:26.  In Jesus's initial response, he seems to understand that the lawyer may read the verse differently than Jesus does; Jesus asks, "How does it read to you?"  Of course Jesus is the authority, but He seems to understand that the laywer's understanding may differ from His ("...How does it read to you?"). This happens in my every day life.  I think it's important to keep in mind Jesus's question, and Proverbs 27:17 : " As iron sharpens iron, So one person sharpens another.
